I’ve received a steady stream of feedback from readers (and critics) during the long stretch since the last post. One common question is “why so long since the last post?” Simple answer, I became a father. That has been fantastic, but it comes with a bunch of obligations that push updating a golf blog down the priority list.

Thanks to everyone for all the comments and it’s great to be back. Help keep me honest if the posts slow down.

I’ve also been asked how people can support GolfMash — it’s pretty simple — use our ads to start your online golf shopping trips. Thanks for all the support, more reviews are on their way.

I was busy last Sunday. That’s a shame because it was a golfing day. It also was the 6th of January in MA. Thankfully, I did manage to get some golf in on Christmas Eve. What is going on? Someone please explain it to me other than Al Gore.

It’s a little hard to shake the rust off for winter golf, but the grass is actually growing, the trees are starting to bloom and the weather is as good as you’d expect in April. Hopefully, there won’t be some cold snap that kills everything, but it is hard to complain when you’re a golfer and you can play in shirtsleeves.

We here at GolfMash hope all is well for you in the New Year — so far, so good with golf season starting in winter.

We’ve also switched sponsors to Golfsmith. They’ve been a leading online store for a long time now. The old sponsor Austad’s Golf sent me a putter with a grip that was on crooked. That’s not too helpful. They never responded to emails on the subject so now they’re gone. I was able to fix the grip though. I heated the grip section of the club in the oven for about 10 minutes. The heat melted the grip’s glue and using potholders I was able to twist the grip back to square. It was kinda fun, but Golfsmith’s commitment to quality and customer service should avoid the problem in the first place.
