Full Review:

Bass River is a good value for the money. It is a bit (wide) open in place, but is generally well taken care. It is better maintained than most muni courses and also generally uncrowded. You don't go to Bass River for a thorough golf challenge, but if you want to play an inexpensive and low key round, it fits the bill.

The Good

• Some very interesting and challenging holes
  • Number 9 is a picturesque par 3 over the water
  • Number 11 is a great golf hole. A blind tee shot (aim further right than you think) to an elevated fairway is followed by a second shot to a raised green.
• Fairly open and uncrowded most days
• Good value for the money

The Bad

• Some of the holes are afterthoughts. Numbers 2, 10 and 13 are especially boring but also legitimate birdie opportunities if your goal is to bring home a good score.
• It may be expected for a city course, there isn't much of a distinction between rough and fairway. Some holes could also use some trees to enhance them visually
• Numbers 7 and 8 are along the water but you can't see it through the trees
